Film & Video
I make movies. Short movies about real things, or Short Form Documentary. I am particularly interested in and excited about food, sustainability and DIY culture so many of my movies are about those things…
I work with HD digital video and a simple, high-quality documentary setup; this allows me to take a piece from start to finish – to produce, shoot and edit, which I love because I can become completely involved in my subject for every step of the way. But I also very much enjoy collaborating with like-minded, creative people on interesting projects. I also occasionally shoot on Super8 and 16mm film because I love it. It makes me feel like I’m in another era and I like that. It also makes road trips a lot more fun…
A few movies of mine that you can see online:
In 2009, I completed a film called Brew that screened at Other Cinema and Garden for the Environment in San Francisco as part of the How to Homestead Series.
*I recently edited a short version of Brew, renamed The Ten Pound Hefeberry. It is an official selection for the New Belgium Clips of Faith Beer and Film Tour! Find the festival this summer in a city near you for a swell night of movies and beer…
In 2008, I produced (and co-hosted and edited) a web series called The Great Village with Seesmic Inc..
Since 2007, I have been working with uCamps’ Summer Drama Camp with very cool kids, here are a couple of the movies I’ve helped them create.
I am currently working on a film about How to Make Your Own Cheese.
Filmmaker Reel coming soon.
